Thanks for your blog about free things to do in Scotland - very interesting! In general, museums and galleries are free of charge except for temporary exhibitions. Edinburgh Council have reduced the opening hours of its museums over the winter - you can check them out here

I love MacCaig's Tower too! As well as the distillery tour there are even free walking tours in Scotland! That includes tours of the Old Town in Edinburgh and the marvellous city chambers in Glasgow (pictured above). @Horizons @FullStopNextChapter ;
