    My favourite farm shop has to be Hopetoun Farm Shop near Broxburn http://hopetoun.co.uk/farm-shop/ I love that they sell lamb, poultry and game all raised on the Hopetoun estate keeping those food miles low. I find their butcher to be very helpful and knowledgeable.

    Montrose, Forfar and Dundee have farmer's markets on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Saturday of every month (except January I think). Montrose is held on the High Street, Forfar is indoors in the Mart in John St and Dundee's is in City Square.  There are lovely locally produced meats, cheeses, baked goods and so much more.  It's a great way to spend a Saturday morning, even if it's only to sniff and sample!

    The original Farmers Market in Edinburgh takes place on Castle Terrace - just below Edinburgh Castle - every Saturday and has been going for 15 years. The market is well attended with stallholders who attend every week and others that come one week per month for example. Other markets have sprung up with the increasing popularity of this type of food - Tram Stop Market, Grassmarket Market, Leith Market all on Saturdays and Stockbridge Market on Sundays. We are spoilt for choice!!!  :)

    Farm shops are also often really good places for a meal / afternoon tea.  My suggestions would include - the Secret Herb Garden in Old Pentland near Edinburgh, Whitmuir organic farm on the A701 near Penicuik, Blacketyside Farm Shop near Leven in Fife and Balgove Larder Farm Shop near St Andrews.

    The Ayrshire Farmers Market takes place once a month in both Ayr and Kilmarnock, but you'll also find them in Paisley too!

    Ballater Farmers Market is located on the village Church Green every 4th Saturday of the month (May - October). You will find a huge range of local delights and produce including local Cambus O' May cheese, HM Sheridan's butcher (with a Royal Warrant no less!), and Three Fields Veg.     Across the Kingdom of Fife there are a wealth of Farmers markets and great farm shops. 

    Cupar Farmers market 

    Kirkcaldy Farmers market   (last Saturday of the month 9am - 1pm)

    St Andrews Farmers market 

    Dunfermline Farmers market

    A selection of Farm shops Muddy boots, Puddledub & Ardross but to name a few, plenty more to choose from but at least this is a starter for 10!  :)
