This tranquil forest, just north of Broadford, has gentle views over Scalpay, Pabay and the Crowlin Islands. There are no waymarked trails but you can explore the forest roads and paths along the rocky shoreline.
Linger with a picnic and enjoy the views over Camus na Sgianadin, a sheltered, shell-filled bay where many visiting and resident birds come to feed. You can find out which birds are visiting this area and report your own sightings at Skye Birds.
The forest's lack of light pollution makes it perfect for viewing the night sky. It’s one of nine locations on Skye selected for Dark Sky Skye.
In the past few years, the people of Broadford have created an exciting new woodland on the eastern side of the forest. Become a member of the Broadford and Strath Community Company and volunteer your time and skills for tree planting, fundraising and path maintenance, or simply come and enjoy the new trails through young trees.
