Our Board

They gather around six to eight times a year and are responsible for approving the direction set out by our Management Team. They also provide general oversight of our practices to ensure the proper management of the organisation.

Anne is Vice-Principal of the University of Glasgow and is very active on the international stage in both her current role and previously as Vice-Principal of University of Dundee. She works to raise the profile of Scotland as an attractive place to study and visit and actively promotes Scotland to prospective students and staff. Anne has also overseen large increases in international students and developed strategic partnerships in Canada, the United States, China, Oman and Azerbaijan. 

Rebecca is Managing Director of Abbey Tours Scotland, a leading destination management company, and has worked in international tourism since 2001. As former Director of JAC Travel and with her current role, Rebecca’s experience has been formed around all international inbound markets to Scotland and the UK. Rebecca is also a Director of European Travel Services, recently acquired by the Abbey Group. She has served as a former Chair of the Scottish Destination Management Association and is currently a Director of the Scottish Tourism Alliance.

Cathy is Commercial and Memberships Director of Entrepreneurial Scotland. She is an experienced manager who has worked across a number of disciplines and industries. With expertise in sales, marketing, business development and change management, Cathy has been involved in tourism development for the last three years and has a track record of improving visitor numbers as well as developing visitor experiences. Transport provision within Scotland and its role in developing visitor numbers and experience is another area Cathy specialises in.

Stephen is the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA) spokesperson for Development, Economy and Sustainability. He is a Civil Engineer graduate, farmer and independent councillor with Orkney Islands Council – having served as Convener of the Council from 2003 to 2012. Previously, Stephen was Chair of Orkney Ferries and a non-executive Director with both NHS Orkney and the North of Scotland Water Authority. He has a good understanding of remote and rural areas and brings an abundance of experience of partnership working with the public, private and third sectors along with strong leadership skills.

Carolyn is Chief Legal Officer for Skyscanner. She is a qualified solicitor who has spent a large number of years working within the technology sector. Her roles have included commercial, legal and leadership roles with an international scope.

Keith is a former internationally acclaimed professor with appointments worldwide, including in a UN-funded Institute in New Zealand.  He is an award-winning company director and a leading expert in Scotland on Cyber Security and is a member of the Scottish Government’s National Cyber Resilience Leaders Board and widely viewed as a public sector security specialist. He is also the founder of Cyber Security Scotland and works as an independent consultant.

Calum is proprietor of the award-winning Loch Melfort Hotel in Oban. He is currently Co-Chair of the Argyll and the Isles Tourism Co-operative Ltd, Vice-Chair of Oban and Lorn Tourism and Chair of the Arduaine Garden Support Group. He is also a member of the Tourism Leadership Group, a Director of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, Chair of the British Hospitality Association (BHA) Scotland and a Director of BHA UK.

Caroline is a Chartered Accountant, former Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) LLP, Non-Executive Director at Edinburgh International Festival and Audit Committee member at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Caroline has over 30 years’ business experience advising boards in a range of industry sectors. Her experience covers small businesses to large listed companies including hotel, leisure, retail, technology and business services organisations both in Scotland and internationally. She was a member of PwC’s governance body of their UK’s Partnership, their UK’s Supervisory Board, their Audit and Risk Committee, their Strategy and Governance Committee and their Risk Council.
