Overview

This framework is for the provision of IT Consumables covering data media storage, CD / DVD, and ink / toner cartridges.

What is in scope?

The IT Consumables framework covers:

  • ink cartridges (original, remanufactured and compatible)
  • toner cartridges (original and remanufactured)
  • data media storage products - CDs, DVDs and memory sticks
  • CD / DVD storage

What is out of scope?

The IT Consumables framework does not include some of the other product types often provided by suppliers of IT consumables or office supplies but which are typically included in the scope of other more targeted contracts. These exclusions include:

  • office paper - this can be found under the Scottish Procurement general stationery and office paper framework
  • general stationery - this can be found under the Scottish Procurement general stationery and office paper framework
  • office equipment (printers, photocopiers) - these can be found under the Scottish Procurement equipment framework
  • IT hardware - this can be found under the Scottish Procurement IT Hardware framework
  • networking items (e.g. cables, routers)
  • audiovisual equipment
Organisations seeking to purchase any of the items classified as out of scope should either refer to the referenced framework, where available or continue to use their respective existing contracts.

Note: It is the responsibility of any buying organisation wishing to use the framework agreement to satisfy itself that it is eligible to do so. Entitlement can be established from the terms of the OJEU advert and guidance on this can be found in Annex A of Scottish Government Guidance on Framework Agreements. If there is any doubt, legal advice should be sought.

This figure is based on both original equipment manufacturer and non-original products purchased in 2011 and reflect the current buying behaviour of the Scottish public sector.
