Why are people in Scotland inactive?

 

Physical activity reduces the risk of many diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease & stroke. Physical activity improves psychological well-being;self perception and self esteem; and mood and sleep quality. Recent estimates make physical inactivity the fourth leading cause of death globally.

Physical activity can reduce the chances of becoming depressed or anxious. for mild depression physical activity can be as effective as antidepressants. All adults need to be physically active.
