Scotland's 11 Local Criminal Justice Boards provide for efficient joint working and oversight of the performance of the system at the local level. For the most part, each Local Board consists of the Sheriff Principal (Chair), the Area Procurator Fiscal, the Court Service Assistant Area Director and the local police representative.
