Review Team finds 16 of 20 complaints handled to a reasonable standard
In six complaint handling reviews (CHRs) published today, Monday 29 July 2019, the PIRC found that of 20 individual complaints reviewed, 16 were handled to a reasonable standard by Police Scotland.

Report recommends review of guidance for monitoring people transported in police vehicles
An independent investigation has recommended that Police Scotland undertakes a review of the guidance given to officers regarding monitoring people being transported in police vehicles.
The recommendation comes after a 25-year-old woman suffered severe burns when she set fire to her clothing in the back of a police van in Glasgow on Saturday 27 April 2019.

Investigation launched following death of motorcyclist, 33
The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner (PIRC) is carrying out an investigation into the actions of police officers in the lead up to a road traffic collision in Inverness involving a motorcycle in the early hours of Saturday 29 June 2019. The 33-year-old motorcylist died as a result.
