    MSPs take evidence on the FGM Bill

    The Equality and Human Rights Committee will take evidence on the Female Genital Mutilation (Protection and Guidance) (Scotland) Bill, on Thursday.

    The aim of the Bill is to strengthen statutory protections for women and girls at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM).

    Elections Bill under scrutiny

    The Standards Procedures and Public Appointments Committee will take evidence on the Scottish Elections (Reform) Bill, Stage One, on Thursday from 9:30 am. The Bill aims to reform certain aspects of the law relating to Scottish parliamentary and local government elections, including length of terms.

    From 12pm on Wednesday the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon MSP, will be answering questions from Committee Conveners.

    The session is expected to cover questions related to the Scottish Government's performance on the economy, education, health, and justice, among other things.
