About ISD
Scotland has some of the best health service data in the world. Few other countries have information which combines high quality data, consistency, national coverage and the ability to link data to allow patient based analysis and follow up. The Information Services Division (ISD) is a division of National Services Scotland, part of NHS Scotland. ISD provides health information, health intelligence, statistical services and advice that support the NHS in progressing quality improvement in health and care and facilitates robust planning and decision making.
What's New in ISD?
Newly launched ISD Beta website
We have launched a newly designed ISD Beta website containing the latest version of our publications. Previous versions of all publications can still be accessed on this original website.
The ‘beta’ label means you’re looking at the first version of a new service or web page.
During the beta phase services are continually tested and improved, and we have included the option to submit your feedback at the bottom of every page.
Our beta service is available at the same time as this original service, as we continue to migrate content. Sometimes a new page is published on this Beta site before the original page on the old website has been removed.
Workforce publications move to NES
As of 1 October 2019, the workforce statistics for Psychology, CAMHS and the core NHS workforce are being produced by NHS Education for Scotland (NES). A joint letter [346Kb] by the Chief Executives of NSS and NES, dated 23 August 2019, details the rationale for the changes and arrangements for the transfer of these functions. The ISD website is temporarily hosting NES’ publications and the latest statistics can be found using the link on the Workforce page.
