Workforce Development

As a confident, competent and informed workforce we work with colleagues in education and learning to find ways of supporting staff who work with telehealth and telecare technologies.

This includes academia, collaborative groups, professional bodies and researchers.

Higher education – Embedding Technology Enabled Health and Care

In 2015-16, SCTT has delivered lectures, tutorials and podcasts directly to over 750 people, raising awareness about technology enabled health and care with academic staff and embedding this into undergraduate programmes and CPD modules.  This activity has been supported by sharing resources directly with  academics and increasing the number of HEIs who participate in the knowledge exchange events.

At a strategic level, SCTT works with stakeholders to:

• Raise the profile of the impact of technology enabled services on the workforce across health and care at a strategic level.

• Highlight specific challenges and opportunities in relation to capability and capacity.

• Support educational providers to share relevant information about technology in health and care training.

On an international level, our knowledge engagement supports the current Memoranda’s of Understanding through:

• Webinars – identifying key experts and organising webinars on shared areas of interest

• Study visits – for international colleagues who come to Scotland to gain insight into the developments and approaches to technology enabled health and care.
