Methods and Data Management

Statistics image of graphThe use of sound and appropriate methods in statistical processes are vital to the production of reliable statistics.

 

Statistical methods should be consistent with scientific principles and internationally recognised best practice, and be fully documented. The Code of Practice for Official Statistics requires that the details of methods adopted should be published (Principle 4, Practice 1).

 

This sections provides general methods notes and guidance; individual official statistics should be supported by specific guides and technical notes in their topic areas.
