Welcome to our Stroke web pages. This section provides information on cerebrovascular disease, transient ischaemic attack and stroke.
We have released our latest publication in January 2020. A summary of the latest publication is available and detailed tables of information are accessible for different topic areas such as deprivation, hospital activity, prescribing, incidence, survival, mortality, primary care and ambulance service activity.
Although the same team deals with coronary heart disease and stroke information, the two conditions are separated on ISD's web site to highlight the distinction between the two in terms of their epidemiology and service provision.
We have also traditionally included information on other forms of cardiovascular disease and this is a reflection of the broader remit of the Scottish Government's 2009 strategy Better Heart Disease & Stroke Care Action Plan 
and the 2014 Stroke Improvement Plan
The heart disease and stroke publications were released on 28 January 2020. As part of the publication, there is an option to rate the publication and provide comments. ISD will review any comments that are received following the publication and, if appropriate, take account of these for any future publication.
