Resource to support social workers during COVID-19

We’ve produced an online resource to support social workers dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be particularly useful for social workers returning to frontline services, those joining the temporary social worker register and others redeployed to a different role than usual.

We produced the Guidance to help social workers respond to COVID-19 (coronavirus) resource in partnership with the Office of the Chief Social Work Adviser in Scottish Government, Social Work Scotland, Scottish Association of Social Work and other key stakeholders.

Guidance for employers on core training for redeployed workers, temporary workers and volunteers

We’ve produced guidance in partnership with NHS Education for Scotland which provides useful resources and links to support employers with training for redeployed workers, temporary workers and volunteers.

The guidance is a national resource which will support the frontline workforce in health and social care. It will support safe practice when addressing the needs of vulnerable people receiving care services.

Support with death, dying and bereavement during COVID-19

We’ve produced a new resource to help social service workers provide support to people who have palliative and end of life care needs during the during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Support with death, dying and bereavement during COVID-19 aims to help you feel confident about having good conversations about death and dying, discussing what is important to people and compassionately connecting with others. The resource is derived from the SSSC and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) palliative and end of life care (PEOLC) resources and accompanying guidance toolkit.
