That the Parliament congratulates the crew of HMS Oardacious on its completion of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge; recognises that the team raised over £100,000 for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity; notes that the group, which launched its boat from HMNB Clyde, Faslane, rowed from the Canary Islands to Antigua in 36 days, six hours and 40 minutes; understands that the crew lost around 20% of their body weight as they fought dehydration, extreme heat and fatigue to complete the challenge; thanks the four submariners for their contributions to keeping the waters safe, and wishes them success in their future endeavours.

That the Parliament commends Roddy Garden, member of the Helensburgh Clan Colquhoun Pipe Band, for raising more than £7,000 for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) and Robin House, by pedalling across Loch Long while playing his bagpipes; recognises that Roddy pedalled and played simultaneously for an hour and 40 minutes to complete the two-mile challenge; acknowledges the further support that CHAS will be able to provide to families with children approaching the end of life through Roddy’s efforts; understands that Roddy has plans for another fundraising stunt on behalf of CHAS next summer, and wishes him every success with his future fundraising endeavours.
