That the Parliament congratulates The Circle Dundee, which trains social entrepreneurs in how to make their more than profit business successful and sustainable, on winning the Asda Dundee Milton Green Token Giving programme’s customer vote and award of £1,000; further congratulates the runners-up, Dundee Starter Packs, which responds positively to the problems faced by resettling homeless individuals, families and those in need in Dundee and surrounding areas, and DD4 Pipes and Drums SSPDT, which supports schools, local education authorities and communities to allow students the opportunity to learn to play the bagpipes and drums free of charge, with each receiving £500; notes that, in celebration of the Asda Foundation’s 30th anniversary, the local charities, groups, schools and good causes nominated for Green Token Giving during Q4 in 2019 saw their donation doubled; thanks the Asda Foundation for its continued support of local communities, which has seen more than £400,000 invested in community projects and worthy causes in 2019, and hopes that many more local organisations will continue to benefit from the awards.

That the Parliament congratulates the Dundee actor, Brian Cox, on winning his first Golden Globe Award; notes that Brian won the best actor award for his role as the media company mogul, Logan Roy, in the HBO series, Succession, whose character is originally from Dundee; echoes the sentiments of Brian that the victory was a wonderful tribute to himself, the show and the city of Dundee, where many of the scenes for the series were shot, and applauds the proactive work of Brian in supporting the arts scene in Dundee and helping to transform the city into, as the actor himself acknowledges, "a rather extraordinary place".

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of Aldi’s Christmas food donation campaign, which sees local Aldi stores partnered with local charitable organisations to donate surplus food on Christmas Eve, with over 495,000 meals being donated in 2018 alone; notes that this is the third year that Aldi has partnered with charities to ensure that those most in need in the community receive surplus fresh food during the festive period; further notes that 95% of Aldi’s 850 stores across the UK are now paired with local good causes collecting surplus food up to five days a week, and encourages other suppliers to make every effort to ensure that food surplus redistribution programmes and partners are supported not only at Christmas but throughout the year to help create a more sustainable world for all.
