You will play a lead role in delivering the research and analysis requirements of the sector workforce providing recommendations and solutions that aid future workforce planning decision making. Who we are
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) publishes data and intelligence on the social service workforce. The SSSC is the Official Statistics producer for data on the sector’s workforce and is part of the UK sector skills council for social services, Skills for Care and Development (SfCD).
We are the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.
We protect the public by registering social service workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate and take action.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- a degree in a relevant subject
- proven experience working in an analytical field.
- significant experience using a range of analytical methods to gain insight and intelligence from large volumes of data.
- research and analytical skills
- an understanding of evaluation methods with the ability to interpret complex information, develop inferences and make recommendations.
Why work for us
We offer a generous benefits package including flexible working, the latest IT equipment, local government pension scheme and up to 43 days holiday (dependent on service).
Our office is in Dundee, but during the COVID-19 pandemic this role is home based until there is no longer a requirement to physically distance. We actively encourage remote working and would support a less office-based format even after restrictions are lifted. We are developing our home working policy and we are happy to discuss individual arrangements and consider full home working as an option depending on job requirements and meeting the eligibility criteria as determined by the new policy.
