That the Parliament recognises the contribution of the Mercy Project, which is run by the Sisters of Mercy at St Catharine’s Convent in Edinburgh, and is marking its silver jubilee, following its launch in April 1993; understands that the project offers meals, friendship and broad practical support to homeless and other marginalised citizens, and commends what it sees as the ongoing commitment and efforts of the convent, and the project's diverse body of local and international volunteers and third-sector partners, in the mission to alleviate homelessness and social deprivation in communities.

That the Parliament congratulates the team at the Bow Bar of 80 West Bow, Edinburgh on being named the Best Pub in Scotland at the 20th annual AA Hospitality Awards, which were held at the Grovenor Hotel in London; understands that the AA’s judging panel spent a year travelling the UK sampling the nation's ultimate pubs, restaurants and hotels, which resulted in the Bow Bar receiving this prestigious award, considered by many to represent the gold standard in the hospitality sector; notes that the Bow Bar is widely considered to provide one of the finest malt whisky selections in Edinburgh, and wishes the Bow Bar continued success in the future so that residents and visitors to the city can enjoy its unique offering for many years to come.

As an amendment to motion S5M-05282 in the name of Nicola Sturgeon (Child Tax Credit Cuts), leave out from "is fundamentally" to end and insert "notes that the UK Government has a duty to manage public finances carefully for future generations; considers that the UK Government has sought to curb increasing welfare spending by reducing benefits to those on higher incomes, such as child benefit; notes that the two-child limit on child tax credits will not apply to current recipients; considers that the Scottish Government has the power to reverse the two-child limit on tax credits by using newly devolved powers if it so chooses; further considers that exemptions to the two-child policy, such as that given to women who are victims of rape, must be implemented as compassionately as possible and monitored closely, and believes that more must be done to help women in Scotland in these circumstances by, for example, increasing the number of sexual assault referral centres that are available."
