Working together at a local level

Officials from the Social Security Directorate have been meeting with Local Authorities and third sector organisations over the last few weeks. Our commitment is to meet with all councils and to date have met with 17. Throughout our visits we have been gathering information and learning more about how services are delivered locally, this will help inform how we deliver social security local face to face services. We believe there is no one size fits all approach and it is therefore vital that we continue to work together at a local level to design the services for each area.

Our overall aim is to give every person entitled to one of the benefits we will be responsible for the information, advice and support that they need and complement the services already provided locally. Above all, we want our service to provide a human face for those who need it. We will continue to provide regular updates as the process continues.
