Thank you to everyone who made a request to the funding programme. All requests have now been processed and responded to.
Requests for the Screen Scotland Bridging Bursary are also now closed.
In the midst of the very serious personal and professional implications felt by all in the current environment, our first priority at Creative Scotland has been to do everything we can to help safeguard the future of the arts, screen and creative industries and provide funding and support which responds to the immediate impact of Covid-19.
As part of our Covid-19 response, on Friday 27 March we launched a Bridging Bursary Programme to provide financial support to individuals who are unable to sustain their creative work and practice in these extremely challenging times.
The Bridging Bursary Programme was in two strands:
Having launched the funds on Friday 27 March, both programmes were open for requests from Monday 30 March.
The volume of requests for the Creative Scotland Bridging Bursary was such that we took the decision to pause applications to that fund on Thursday 2 April at 6pm.
This was to ensure that funds remained for those who required extra time to make their application or for those have been unable to make an application this week due to having Covid-19.
The below information relates to the Creative Scotland Bridging Bursary requests between 30 March and 2 April.
865 people (81% of those requesting support) received bursaries of between £500-£2,500.

£1,552,081 has been awarded, this was a combination of existing funding from The National Lottery and Grant in Aid (Scottish Government).

Decisions were made purely on eligibility, this was not a competitive process, those requesting funds were either eligible under the criteria of the funding programme or ineligible.
