Details of the Requirement:
This new notification, called 'Covid-19 – staff absences' is to report on the impact of COVID-19 on your staff. 

It should be completed on Tuesday every week. 

You should complete this based on the status of your staff on that day and include all staff who work in the service even if they were not due to work on that day. Please count all individuals (headcount) rather than whole time equivalent.

We appreciate that this is a very demanding time for you and all staff in care services across Scotland. We will use this information to help support you and will share it with Scottish Government so that they have a clear picture of the challenges care services are facing and can provide the best possible response. 

This new notification is in addition to others we have recently introduced or adjusted to help us support care during COVID-19.

•Outbreak of infectious diseases – for any outbreak of an infectious disease, including each case of COVID-19.
•Death of a service user – for any death of a service user, including from confirmed or suspected COVID-19.
•Death of a staff member - for any death of a member of staff, including from confirmed or suspected COVID-19.
•Change of circumstances related to COVID-19 – this notification is for services to tell us about any changes to how they operate that is specifically related to COVID-19.
•COVID-19 – staff shortages – this notification asks services to tell us about changes to staffing levels and what additional staffing is required.
•A new notification is being developed for when there are no longer people experiencing care or staff with symptoms of COVID-19 in the service.

These additional notifications are helping us to better understand and inform others of the pressures services across Scotland are facing during COVID-19, so that support measures can be considered and implemented.
