The 2020 Scottish Social Services Awards opened for nominations today (13 January 2020).
The awards celebrate the work of Scottish Social Services and the individuals teams and organisations making a positive difference to people’s lives.
So, whether it’s you, your team or someone you know, this is your chance to recognise those who go above and beyond to deliver the best in social care.
This year the awards are merging with the Scottish Association of Social Work Awards. The new partnership will see categories introduced for a Social Worker and Student Social Worker of the Year.
Other changes include an updated category about ethical practice from the Scottish Social Services Council and leadership in social work from Social Work Scotland.
To mark the merger the ceremony will move to a new venue in Edinburgh. Finalists and guests will be invited to a special evening event at The Hub on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile on Wednesday 3 June 2020.
Nominations must be made by 6pm on February 21, so don’t delay. Let us know who you would like to see acknowledged for their efforts.
Who can enter?
The organisers are looking for entries from people working in social services across Scotland and you can look at previous winners’ films and entries to help plan yours. You can enter yourself or nominate others, but you must have their permission. If you’re entering as an individual, you must have permission from your organisation.
There are 10 categories to choose from. Take a look at the categories and hints and tips for entering here.
