What does GALVmed do?
We make available and facilitate adoption of livestock health products by poor livestock keepers. We do this by:
Intervention in all necessary links of the value chain including:
- Product development, registration, manufacture, distribution, commercialisation and delivery to the end user.
- Building capacity (upstream and downstream).
- Market development and adoption by creation of sustainable value chains.
- Understanding and influencing policy to enable the above.
- Advocating for livestock as a route out of poverty.
Where is GALVmed’s Focus?
Wherever the weak links are in the product development and distribution value chain.
How do we do this?
We achieve our aims by:
- Catalysing (stimulating) interactions with and between others.
- Facilitating and supporting.
- Forming partnerships (e.g. Vets, governments, policy makers, NGOs etc.).
- Employing consultants.
Purpose of GALVmed:
