CPA Scotland Branch hosted the 42nd British Islands and Mediterranean Region Annual Conference in the Scottish Parliament from 10 to 14 June 2012.
The CPA provides the sole means of regular consultation among Members of Commonwealth Parliaments. It fosters co-operation and understanding among them and promotes the study of and respect for Parliament. Its role is endorsed by Commonwealth Parliaments and Heads of Government.
This Conference takes place annually and each Branch within the British Islands and Mediterranean Region takes it turn to host. The Conference provides an ideal platform for parliamentarians within the region who, irrespective of gender, race, religion or culture, to gather together to discuss the positive ideals of parliamentary democracy.
The theme of the 2012 Conference was “Making Parliaments Relevant”. CPA Scotland Branch welcomed around 60 delegates from Alderney, Cyprus, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Jersey, Malta, Northern Ireland, Scotland, St Helena, UK and Wales.
If you have any queries about the Conference, please contact Margaret Neal, CPA Scotland Branch Secretary. Telephone 00 44 131 348 5323 or e-mail [email protected]
