Biography
Overview
I became the MSP for Midlothian North and Musselburgh in 2011. Before that I spent more than 30 years working in the banking sector in Asia and London. I've also been a Midlothian councillor. I was born in Forfar and following many years of living around the world, I made Dalkeith my home.
What motivated you to become an MSP?
I got into politics because I have a passion for helping people, and I believed the people of Midlothian deserved more from their local politicians. I wanted to work hard in the constituency to create jobs and support young people in receiving training and education that leads to employment.
I want to help local businesses grow and promote the potential of Midlothian North and Musselburgh. I'm interested in working to achieve a stronger and more prosperous Scotland.
