A panel of experts set up to help those struggling with personal debt in Scotland held its first meeting on 21 January 09.

Insolvency Statistics for the 3rd quarter of 2008/09 were released on 21 January 2009.

A panel of experts is to be set up to make sure the Scottish Government does everything in its power to give support to people struggling with personal debt.

The entry regarding charge for payments has been updated to reflect that in some cases a 28 day period is appropriate rather than the more usual 14 days for a debtor to repay their debt.

The diligence pages of the website have been updated to reflect an amended timeline for commencement of the changes introduced by the Bankruptcy and Diligence etc. (Scotland) Act 2007.
