As part of a series of 1,000 Voices Regional Discovery Events organised by Who Cares? Scotland the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon met with 50 care experienced young people to hear their views on the care system.
The pledge by the First Minister to listen to 1,000 voices is commitment to understand from young people who are either in care or who are care experienced.
Along with the full independent care review group established earlier this year, the group will listen to young people with experience of care, their families and providers of care and particularly, children and young people in care now, to inform its recommendations to improve both the quality of life and outcomes of young people in care.
Ms Sturgeon said:
Discovery Events like this are part of my commitment to hear from 1,000 young people who are either in care or who are care experienced. We want to know what you think the best system of care would look like. Because together, through the Care Review, that’s what we are determined to build.”
Before the First Minister left Callum managed to get a quick interview. You can watch it in full below.
