We’re reopening the places you love, gradually, safely and in line with government advice

Great News...

We are starting a phased reopening of some of our sites across Scotland.

After what has felt like history’s longest wait, the easing of certain lockdown restrictions means you and your family can now grab a well earned change of scenery at a selection of our safe and secure sites.

It’s a pleasure to welcome you back and we would like to thank you for your patience and perseverance in staying home during this pandemic.

When you arrive at any of our reopening sites, we’ll need to work together to make sure we are all following the rules and staying protected.

So we’ve laid out what these measures will be below. Just so you know what to expect when you get here.

Book ahead

We can only accept advance bookings. Please don’t travel to a site to gain entry without a booking already in place as we can’t currently accept walk up visitors

Sites now open and sites with pre-booking available

We're pleased to announce that these sites are now open, with safety precautions in place.

We also have advance ticket booking available for a number other sites opening soon.

What to expect from your visit

  • Our staff have been trained in hygiene and physical distancing and provided with the necessary PPE
  • Signage is on site to guide visitors, this may include one-way systems and where areas of sites are closed
  • We have introduced enhanced cleaning measures, including our toilet facilities, to make visitors feel comfortable while visiting
  • In line with Scottish Government legislation and guidance, face coverings are now mandatory if you are visiting any indoor/enclosed spaces at our sites including retail and catering areas
  • Takeaway catering options will be available at some sites
  • We are partaking in NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect measures

From standing stones to castle grounds, many of the sites in our care are now open to visit for free. Be sure to check a site has reopened before you travel.

What you can do to help us

We want everyone to be able to enjoy our sites safely, and so we ask that you respect the following before and during your visit:

  • Plan ahead and check information on our website and social pages before you visit
  • Without a valid booking confirmation, we won’t be able to let you in. Members must also book and will need to bring their valid Membership Card
  • Please don’t visit if you have Covid-19 symptoms
  • Please do not expect all facilities to be open immediately. Like many places, we have a phased approach to re-opening while we work to make them safe
  • Children must be supervised at all times
  • Please respect the Government and site guidelines on physical distancing and hygiene
