Letting agent registration
Application fee
If you want to pay the application fee by invoice, you need to submit your application by 2 September 2018. This is to make sure all invoices are processed and paid before the deadline on 1 October 2018. Any applications made after 2 September 2018 will have to be paid online.
How much does it cost to register?
The fee for registering depends on:
- the number of offices that your business has where letting agency work is carried out
- whether you applied to join the register, or re-register, within the stated deadlines
The application fee will be for a 3 year registration.
Existing agents applying before 1 October 2018 or, after this date, before they begin operating
The following application fees apply when:
- your business is currently carrying out letting agency work and you apply before 1 October 2018, or
- you apply after 1 October 2018 and are a new agent who's submitted your application before you begin carrying out letting agency work

Late applications
The following application fees apply when:
- your business fails to apply by the required deadline of 1 October 2018, or
- you're a new business who begins to carry out letting agency work after 1 October 2018 before you're admitted to the register.

These higher fees reflect the costs of the additional checks that will be undertaken in determining an application that is submitted late.
