Education
SAPG has worked with NHS Education for Scotland (NES) to develop training materials on antimicrobial stewardship for both undergraduate and postgraduate professionals.
We also provide ongoing support for the delivery of education on antimicrobial stewardship across all health and care settings.
Resources are available to meet the learning needs of staff in delivering patient care and to support continuing professional development.
The Hospital Antimicrobial Review Programme (HARP)
The Scottish Reduction in Antimicrobial Prescribing (ScRAP) Programme
The ScRAP Programme is an educational toolkit to help prescribers in primary care reduce unnecessary prescribing of antibiotics.
Antimicrobials in clinical practice
This resource is designed for local trainers to support practitioners who are involved in the prescribing, monitoring and administration of antibiotics in their early stages of clinical practice. It will also be of value to those returning to practice to refresh their knowledge of contemporary approaches to antimicrobial therapy in Scotland.
Antibiotic prescribing for today's practitioner
This is a selection of e-learning vignettes, based on a wide range of different infections, presenting in a variety of settings. Each short resource takes about 20-40 minutes to complete.
Further resources on healthcare associated infections (HAI) are available on the HAI pages of the NES website
Further resources for pharmacists are available on the NES pharmacy web pages

Raising Awareness of Antimicrobial Stewardship
