Stuart Bradley

Stuart Bradley is Principal Engineer, Power Electronics at WMG, University of Warwick, and has a PhD in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. He works on the development of power electronics, machines and drives for transport, energy and industrial processes.

Andrew Buglass has been a developer and a financier of large scale energy projects since 1992. His experience spans energy projects valued in excess of £11bn in over 30 countries. This included senior roles with PowerGen plc, Unocal Corporation and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Michael Bullock has over twenty years’ insurance experience in the London and Bermudian markets, having helped to found a Lloyd’s Broker and a specialist renewable energy underwriting unit for the Ascot syndicate at Lloyd’s.

Barry Carruthers is the Strategic Innovation Manager at ScottishPower Renewables. His remit covers innovative activities in Marine Energy, onshore and offshore wind, and emerging technologies such as energy storage.

Peter Fraenkel

Peter Fraenkel is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and he is a Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh. He recently formed a company called Fraenkel-Wright Ltd with Martin Wright which has a capability in renewable energy consultancy with an emphasis on marine applications.

Andrew Mill

Andrew Mill is Chairman of the European Marine Energy Centre, where he was previously Managing Director. A graduate and Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and a Fellow of the Energy Institute, Andrew is also on the Board of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult.

Alan Mortimer

Alan Mortimer joined SgurrEnergy in 2013 as Director of Innovation where his role involves extending the company’s renewable energy activities in onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, wave, tidal, heat and transport with greater involvement in technology development and innovation.

Jason Schofield

Jason Schofield is Managing Director of Green Marine. The business provides a range of marine support services including the installation, removal and maintenance of a wide range of tidal and wave energy devices and gravity bases.

Clare Lavelle

Clare is an Associate Director who lead’s Arup’s Scottish Energy Consulting business. A chartered mechanical engineer Clare has been central to the development of the UK’s marine renewables industry both in the development of projects and technologies.

Alan MacLeay

Alan MacLeay is an Engineering Director in the Renewables and Heavy Lifting Division of Subsea 7, Seaway Heavy Lifting. He is a chartered engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. Based in Aberdeen, he has over 25 years of offshore and subsea engineering experience.

Andrew Rae is Professor of Engineering for the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) He brings experience in Experimental and Applied Aerodynamics, Advanced Engineering, Aero Space to the Group.

Sian Wilson is Development Manager for Crown Estates Scotland and is responsible for managing contracts for test and demonstration renewable energy projects and also for considering the development and leasing requirements to support test and demonstration activities in the early stages of technology development.
