Day two in the US

On the second day of the First Minister’s trip to the United States, she visited Stanford University to make a speech on Scotland’s Place in the World.

More than 200 students and academics from Stanford University attended the speech.

The First Minister then took part in a Q&A, hosted by Professor Michael McFaul, Director at The Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University.

Questions covered a range of topics including Brexit, Scotland’s economy and independence.

On Wednesday, the First Minister will start her engagements in New York which will include addressing the United Nations on human rights and the role of women in building peace.
