The importance of global action to tackle child poverty and promote the rights of the child were highlighted by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon on the second day of her official visit to China.

Speaking at a UNICEF event in Beijing, the First Minister spoke about some of the measures the Scottish Government is taking to ensure no child is left behind in Scotland.

In her next engagement, the First Minister visited the iconic Forbidden City to unveil a partnership between Historic Environment Scotland (HES) and Beijing’s Palace Museum to share knowledge around 3D technology.

Later in the day the First Minister launched the Scottish Social Enterprise Academy, meeting Chinese social entrepreneurs and leading philanthropists.

  • China’s Minister for Culture and Tourism, Mr Luo Shugang for a discussion about the growing cultural collaboration between Scotland and China.
