First Minister to attend climate summit

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today gave the first of what will be regular press conferences at her official residence, Bute House.

The First Minister gave an opening statement and then took questions from journalists. You can read the full opening statement here As well as covering topics such as tennis, Syria and Police funding the First Minister also confirmed that she will travel to Paris to take part in the UN global climate change summit.

While there, the First Minister will undertake a series of bilateral meetings and speaking engagements promoting Scotland’s track record of action on climate change in support of an ambitious and legally binding global climate deal.

The First Minister will also use high-level meetings and speaking engagements to champion the cause of climate justice which aims to avoid the worst impacts of climate change falling on the poor and the vulnerable at home and abroad.
