Cars

Cars may be practical, but they have a high carbon footprint.

How to reduce emissions from your car journey

Replace your conventional car with hybrid or electric car. Not only do they produce fewer emissions, but they will also save costs in the long term. An electric car’s running cost is only 25% of a conventional vehicle. The parliament has two dedicated parking spaces with electric charging points.

Share your car journey with other people who take the same route this will save fuel costs and reduce overall emissions.

Leave your car at home and join the car club. Save £60 by getting free membership to the Car Club for Parliament ID card holders. Choose electric over conventional when you book your car.

Keep your vehicle properly serviced

Check tyre pressure at least once a fortnight

Avoid carrying unnecessary weight in the boot or roof box

Plan your journey route and avoid congested areas
