Children’s Rights

23 November 2017

The First Minister delivered this year’s Kilbrandon Lecture at Barony Hall, Strathclyde University.

Lord Kilbrandon report of 1964 led to the establishment of the children’s hearings system in 1971. The Kilbrandon Lecture series was inaugurated in 1999, and considers issues that can impact on a child’s upbringing and explores how to make Scotland a better place to grow up.

Emotional start to a question from the floor to @NicolaSturgeon from a Strathclyde law student who is only here as she personally intervened to stop his deportation by The Home Office. Huge applause! #kilbrandon
