The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is a statutory body established by the
Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001. The main purpose of the Council is to
regulate the social service workforce and their education and training. The aim of
the Council is to provide protection to those who use services, promote high
standards of conduct and practice among social service workers, strengthen and
support the professionalism of the workforce and promote confidence in the sector.
