Do you agree that a licencing system should be put in place to prevent damage to homes and that livelihoods downstream aren’t compromised in order to shoot more grouse?

Good Luck

Burning moorland is outrageous

Considering any future land use must benefit the many, not the few as at present.

Why are arable farmers not allowed to burn stubble and straw, when grouse moors can burn heather?

I'd rather that driven grouse shooting was banned, but a strong set of licence conditions to limit the damage to biodiversity and the environment may be an acceptable start.

If we consider ourselves to be civilised this needs to be done with some urgency.

The future of our wildlife, our wild places and our climate is at stake. Grouse moors are for the benefit of a privileged few, but are detrimental to the environment and the majority of people. We are at a crucial time and must put the environment before profit and bloodlust.

An absolute yes, rather than as now degrading the land as at present.

I live near Hebden bridge in Yorkshire, this is the same scenario that happens here, a fantastic group of people called siow the flow find natural ways to do just that. Unfortunately much of their hard work is undone, by having a intensely managed grouse moor at the head of the valley at Walshaw. Owned by the rich for the rich and sod everybody downstream of them.

Peoples homes come before shooting grouse. The moorland used for shooting should be returned to natural state to keep water from flooding down stream from the moorland.
