The core purpose of the Digital and Security (DaS) organisation is the provision of world class Digital and Security expertise, solutions and services to our customers, which include NSS, NHS Boards, Scottish Government and the wider Public Sector in Scotland. 

A critical role in ensuring integrated Business Technology strategy and delivery of suitable and effective solutions and services is the Senior Service Manager (SSM) position. This role will strengthen our Service Management Team and be specifically focussed on the new COVID-19 portfolio of Services delivered by NSS. 

As a SSM you will be responsible for ensuring we design, develop, deploy and manage the efficient and effective Service of the COVID-19 portfolio provided by NSS.

Responsibilities

• Develop, own and promote the strategy for ongoing use of the COVID-19 service portfolio Technical leadership in development, deployment and support of COVID-19 portfolio
• Work with NSS and external bodies to continually develop product backlog and service enhancements
• Actively contribute to a culture of high performance, innovation and continuous improvement
• Develop organisational view and structure for the COVID-19 portfolio of technical and product specialists required to support the service

Education and Experience

• Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in an IT or other relevant discipline 
• Post-graduate qualification in the specialist area, e.g. ISEB, MCSE or the Professional Certificate in Management or equivalent Master’s degree.
• Well-developed leadership, interpersonal and motivational skills
• Significant experience working at senior management level within the NHS or Public Sector
• Experience of Designing and implementing National service offerings
• Demonstrable experience of managing large national digital services and projects
• Experience of working across a complex, and often politically driven, group of stakeholders to reach agreements
• Contractual and Service level experience negotiations

General Requirements

• ITIL / Prince2 Practitioner desirable
• Ability to manage change
• Demonstrate taking ownership and using initiative
• Highly developed analytical and judgemental skills
• Highly developed communication skills; verbal, written and presentational.

An opportunity has become available for a permanent position to join the national Office 365 team. This role is for a Senior Change/Service Manager for Office 365, reporting directly to the Office 365 Head of Service. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that processes are fit for purpose, and performed to agreed standards, as well as identifying process improvements and implementing best practice. A holistic understanding of Service Management will be required, as this role will manage more than one process, but particular emphasis is placed upon the change process and managing change across the national Office 365 tenancy. Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills are essential. You must be able to show initiative and prioritize work, manage your own workload, and maintain high standards, with excellent attention to detail.

We are looking for a Donor Carer Venepuncturist to join our existing community teams and primarily be based at our new Livingston Blood Donor Centre. Our Donor Carers provide a high standard of care to our donors.  You should be friendly, enjoy meeting people and be willing to work as part of a team. As Donor Carer Venepuncturist, you will enjoy plenty of variety including caring for donors through the blood donation process, loading/unloading and assembling our community session donation equipment.

This role occasionally includes travel to various community sessions throughout Edinburgh and the South East of Scotland. You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours. Hours will include weekends and as many as three late evenings a week.

The successful candidates will lead on all technical aspects of Office 365 and will be responsible for National changes on the tenancy, as well as directly engaging with the national virtual teams regarding 3rd and 4th line service tickets. Due to the evergreen nature of Office 365, a strong understanding of the Office 365 suite is essential. 

Successful candidates will be required to work closely with Security & Information Governance colleagues, as well as programme and technical leads within each of the NHS Scotland boards. We are looking for a dynamic, confident and friendly Staff Nurse to provide clinical leadership for the Clinical Support Team (CST). 

This post will be based in the Clinical Support Team, is a national post and will involve a degree of home working. Induction training will take place at one of our designated bases/online learning

The CST provides frontline advice to blood donors via telephone/website dealing with donor selection queries, appointments, post donation advice and care. Along with the Senior Charge Nurse/Charge Nurses you will be expected to assist with the management of the service, lead and motivate the team in the delivery of frontline customer service, and provide clinical advice on blood donation and post donation care. The post holder must work closely with other clinical colleagues and donor administration teams. Experience in blood collection is desirable however relevant training will be given.    

You may be expected to travel to other sites in Scotland for meetings.

The testing department provides an essential service towards the provision of healthcare in Scotland. The department is responsible for testing specialised blood components from both whole blood and apheresis collections.  

The post holders will be a member of a team working within the testing department. As part of that team, they will work to ensure that service delivery is carried out in a timely and efficient manner and to the highest of quality standards necessary to meet regulatory requirements. The post holders will be expected to undertake shift working as part of their role. (Pattern covers 24/7 365)

You will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and a Masters or Post Graduate qualification would be advantageous. In addition, you will have a proven leadership ability at a senior management level in a multidisciplinary environment over a significant number of years. You will have the ability to transform strategy, focusing on continually improving outcomes for customers, patients and other stakeholders. We are looking for a NMC/HCPC Registered practitioner to join our SNBTS Transfusion Team to promote the safe and appropriate use of blood and blood components through the development of national programmes of education, associated quality improvement and clinical effectiveness initiatives. You will be the named Transfusion Practitioner for NHS Fife and will work closely with NHS Fife staff. You will also work with colleagues across the east region (Lothian, Borders, Fife) as required as well as the wider SNBTS transfusion team.  You should be able to work with limited supervision and demonstrate flexibility in delivering the requirements of the post. Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to adopt a flexible and proactive approach to problem solving is required to promote and champion this national programme at all levels. Candidates should have experience in a blood transfusion, haematology or related specialty.

Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and should have extensive clinical transfusion experience. You will be required to travel between NHS sites and Higher Education Institutes in order to fully undertake all the duties associated with the post and as such a valid driving licence is desirable. The post-holder will be responsible for supporting safe transfusion practice and maintaining good communication channels across NHS Fife as well as supporting other areas covered by the SNBTS Transfusion Team East Region.

There is also a requirement to participate in a rota for out of hours’ support.  This post will be predominately office based.  

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self motivated Technician to provide second-line support.  With experience of Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft O365, diagnosis of hardware and software issues. Experience of the use of PC build tools like SCCM and InTune would be an advantage, however training will be provided. Good communications skills are important

As a PRM you will be responsible for capturing, estimating and managing the entire DaS view of activity, promptly responding to requests for estimations and new change opportunities typically via the Senior Management Team and the Digital Business Partners network. In addition to sizing future opportunities, keep a close watch on the likely approvals of the new work in order to agree and plan scheduling against relative priorities and to set expectations on availability of resources to commence new demand requests. To establish a and manage a clear pipeline of demand and the status and to provide dashboards and reporting to allow the customer facing teams to manage expectations and plan accordingly for new demand requests. To work closely with eth Pillar and senior management Team across DaS and the associated resource managers to build effective planning and tracking reports to ensure maximum transparency on the allocation of DaS resources to deliver maximum value across all areas of Operations and delivery.

You will be a key player in the development of the Digital Office function and in partnership with the wider Digital Office team establish and promote a customer focused, consistent and professional approach. You will liaise and partner across Clinical, Transformation, Cloud Operations and Information Security areas in ensuring cross functional approaches and methods are deployed.

NSS IT are seeking to recruit a systems developer to support the delivery of Business IT services for national IT Systems used by NHSScotland.

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to contribute to the provision of development and maintenance of applications within Business IT used to support decision making across NHS Scotland.  The post holder will contribute to systems, to enable access to electronic data for health professionals.

• You will have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work as a member of Business IT and liaise with health professionals in NSS and NHS boards. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and a high degree of accuracy. The ability to maintain strict confidentially is essential.  You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with IT experience, a large part of which should have been providing web-based applications with proven experience in a role using a combination of Java 7, Struts 1.1, Spring 5, HTML, JavaScript / JQuery, JSP (Java Server Pages), JSTL, Maven and Oracle.

This post will be based in the Clinical Support Team, is a national post and will involve a degree of home working. Induction training will take place at one of our designated bases.

We are recruiting an enthusiastic, motivated, flexible person to undertake this challenging and interesting post providing a frontline advisory service to donors along with the administrative duties associated with the collection of blood and blood products.
You should be customer focussed and have a friendly telephone manner and be willing to work as part of a team. 

Candidates must be educated to higher grade level and have excellent key board skills and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Access software packages. You must also possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to multi task and be able to work under pressure. Previous relevant healthcare/donor care experience is advantageous. 

You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours if required.  

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure Scotland check. 
The successful candidate(s) must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.

Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.

The team has a national remit and will play a key part in assisting all the NHS Scotland Health Boards on their journey to Office 365

An opportunity has become available for a permanent position to join the national Office 365 team. The role is for an Office 365 Technical specialist, reporting into the Senior Technical Specialist for Office 365. 

The successful candidate will assist the Senior Technical Specialists on all technical aspects of Office 365 and will directly engage with the national virtual teams regarding 3rd and 4th line service tickets. They will also play a key role in the Knowledge management process, being primarily responsible for the technical knowledge base articles, and technical guides. 

Successful candidates will be required to work closely with technical leads and technical teams within each of the NHS Scotland boards. As such, excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills are essential. You must be able to show initiative and prioritise work, manage your own workload and maintain high standards, with excellent attention to detail.

An active interest in training and quality assurance would also be beneficial. Within your role you will contribute to the overall management and smooth running of blood component collection sessions including whole blood and apheresis ensuring donors feel welcome, comfortable and valued. You will be required to undertake venepuncture and medical selection duties.
The position is based in Inverness; however, travel throughout the region is required. You must be flexible, and willing to work variable hours. Hours will include Sundays and regular late evenings.

NSS IT are seeking to recruit a systems developer to support the delivery of Business IT services for national IT Systems used by NHSScotland.

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to contribute to the provision of development and maintenance of applications within Business IT used to support decision making across NHS Scotland.  The post holder will contribute to systems, to enable access to electronic data for health professionals.

• You will have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work as a member of Business IT and liaise with health professionals in NSS and NHS boards. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, and a high degree of accuracy. The ability to maintain strict confidentially is essential.  You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) with IT experience, a large part of which should have been providing web-based applications with proven experience in a role using a combination of Java 7, Struts 1.1, Spring 5, HTML, JavaScript / JQuery, JSP (Java Server Pages), JSTL, Maven and Oracle.
