Christmas media reception

16 December 2015

The First Minister welcomed representatives of the Scottish media to Bute House for a Christmas reception.

The event, which is held annually, was attended by members of the Scottish Parliamentary Journalists Association who cover the proceedings at the Scottish Parliament.

The First Minister thanked the journalists for their contribution over the past year, noting that the media performs an invaluable role in any democracy.

The political editor of the Herald, Magnus Gardham, responded on behalf of the guests and presented the First Minister with her very own selfie stick.

Thanks to @ScotParlJournos for my Christmas pressie – my very own selfie stick!

The First Minister was delighted, but the present didn’t go down too well with everybody.  The First Minister’s husband now has to go back to the drawing board for a suitable Christmas present!

Well that's that pressie ruined, thanks @ScotParlJournos! What can I get @NicolaSturgeon for Christmas now? https://t.co/0UZ3rCVfVN
