Remote interviewing reduces the risk of being exposed to COVID-19 infection for both applicants and panel members. It can be used for any interview situation and is already widespread, especially in the private sector.
The main change in interviewing remotely is the “interview room” which becomes a virtual instead of an actual space, with the interview taking place online in a Video Conference, Skype, Microsoft Teams or a phone call.
For most interviews, everything else stays the same. You will ask similar questions and assess candidates in the same way.
This short guide and checklist looks at how you can prepare, set-up and manage the “interview room”.
