Trainer Introduction

Tony McLaren is the National Co-ordinator for Breathing Space

Lisa-Jane Dock is the National Development Officer at Breathing Space

Lisa Jane and Tony are part of the Breathing Space Team at NHS 24. The service provides compassionate listening, advice, and signposting to people experiencing distress in their lives. A team of advisors takes calls 365 days a year and currently receive about 9000 calls each month from all around Scotland. The service is also currently piloting a Webchat service which is also proving popular especially with younger clients under the age of 30.

Our work externally concentrates on learning and development. Of significant importance is our partnership engagement with many varied organisations promoting key Mental Health messaging to workplaces, sports industries, such as the SFA and SRU, and key voluntary communities throughout Scotland.
