Help to apply for Child Disability Payment
Child Disability Payment is a Social Security Scotland benefit that’s being introduced across Scotland in 2021.
To begin with, from 26 July 2021, you can apply for it on behalf of a child that lives in:
- the City of Dundee
- Perth and Kinross
- the Western Isles
If you’re applying on behalf of a child that lives in one of these areas, Social Security Scotland can help. One of the ways Social Security Scotland can help you is by arranging an appointment with their Local Delivery service.
A Local Delivery appointment is a meeting with a Client Support Adviser where you can:
- go through the full Child Disability Payment application
- get guidance on the supporting information you need to provide
- ask questions about the application process
Depending on the current Covid restrictions, the Client Support Adviser might be able to:
- visit your home
- meet you at a local public venue
If they cannot do this, or you do not want to meet in person, you can book a video or telephone appointment.
If you want to book an appointment or ask for help, contact Social Security Scotland.
Social Security Scotland will accept Child Disability Payment applications from all other parts of Scotland from 22 November 2021.
