Dental Core Training 1
Welcome to the learning area for Dental Core Trainees (DCT) 1.
DCT 1 educational events
Your 12 months in a DCT1 training post will be split between the Hospital Dental Service (HDS) and the Public Dental Service (PDS). The events you attend are based on which service your post is currently in.
The DCT1 Education programme has some events that everybody attends, whether you are in HDS or PDS, and some which you only attend when you are in the PDS 6 month part of your post. Scroll down to the end of this page for detailed event information tables and links to the individual supporting Turas learn course pages.
If you are a DCT1 in hospital then attend the events in the blue column number 2 on the programme. Hospital includes General Dental Hospital (GDH) posts and Oral maxillofacial(OMFS) based posts,

If you are a DCT1 in PDS you go to any of the blue column number 2 events that are taking place as well as the events in the purple column number 1 on the prgramme scheduled during the 6 months you are in the PDS.

The blended learning experiences topics below are open to every Dental Core Trainee (DCT) 1 during training year 2021 - 2022.

Education programme for Public Dental Service (PDS) DCT1 Learning Events: 2021 - 2022
The PDS programme runs over a six month period and is delivered twice in any given training year. Live session dates between September 2021 to February 2022 are aimed at DCT1s that are in a PDS based post during those months. DCTs with a PDS post in March to August 2022 should attend the PDS session dates that occur in the second six month block. DCTs will be automatically booked onto course sessions and added to Teams groups.
