The <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.sqa.org.uk\/computing\/hnc-data-analytics\/\">validation <\/a>took place a few months ago so it&#8217;s taken some time to address the conditions and recommendations &#8211; but we&#8217;re there now.\u00a0Big data is a new, and growing, field and we&#8217;re delighted to be the first UK awarding body to have a specialised qualification in this field.<\/p>\n<p>This new qualification was designed in partnership with the University of Strathclyde and some Glasgow colleges. The award, as the name implies, focuses on <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Big_data\">big data<\/a>. So it combines aspects of data analytics, statistics and programming (among other things). One of its interesting features is that it articulates directly to year two of a number of Strathclyde degrees (including <em>B.Sc. in Data Analytics<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The next stage is to get the award coded and then create a subject page, which will be available shortly.
