The qualification has a simple structure, comprising <strong>three (mandatory) units<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Computing: Applications Development<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Computing: Authoring a Website<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Software Design &amp; Development.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The total credit value is 3\u00bd credits (21 SCQF points) &#8211; which means it lasts <strong>140 hours<\/strong> in total. All three units are existing National Units.The Design &amp; Development\u00a0unit is part of the current <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/56924.html\">Higher qualification in Computing Science<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The qualification can be taken as part of a Foundation Apprenticeship or as a stand-alone qualification since it focusses on an area of acute skills shortage (programming).\u00a0The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/76869.html\">subject page<\/a> is available now, where you will find the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/files_ccc\/GL4W46.pdf\">Group Award Specification<\/a> [PDF].
