The Qualification Development Team (QDT) met for the first time this morning in the Glasgow office. We had a particularly good conversation about what should be in the qualification and possible structures. There was agreement on many things. The qualification should exist at various levels; it should be hierarchical; it should be &#8220;tight&#8221; and focus on software development;\u00a0and\u00a0it should have a simple structure. There was also a lot of agreement on what should be in it: software design, software implementation and software testing were all identified as key skills.<\/p>\n<p>The next stage is to identify a Lead Developer, who will have the job of driving the project forward.<\/p>\n<p>The qualification will be available to centres from January 2016. <a href=\"mailto:%20caroline.douglas@sqa.org.uk\">Contact Caroline<\/a> if you want to know more about this development or join the QDT.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve previously announced the development of a new PDA in Software Development.
