You can find out more about this new qualification on that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/76242.html\">page<\/a>, such as its structure and how it is assessed. There is also a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sqa.org.uk\/sqa\/files_ccc\/GL1547_GL1348_GL1449SPECIFICATION.pdf\">link <\/a>to the Group Award Specification.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m pleased about how this suite of qualifications has turned out. They have a <strong>simple structure<\/strong>, they&#8217;re <strong>short<\/strong> (240 hours), <strong>sharply\u00a0focussed<\/strong> (on coding), and <strong>flexible<\/strong> (you can mix and match units across levels). The component Units are clearly\u00a0written and up-to-date. I think that these PDAs\u00a0will be popular in centres over the coming years since they address an important (and growing) skills shortage (computer programming). There has already been a lot of interest from colleges, schools and other types of centre.
