Ask the First Minister

21 March 2016

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon took part in a conversation with young people as part of the Scottish Government’s ongoing work to ensure that children and young people are at the heart of decisions which affect them and their education.

Young people from across Scotland attended the event, where they had a chance to quiz the First Minister on the things that mattered most to them in Scotland as part of a Q and A hosted by Young Scot Chief Executive, Louise Macdonald.

The First Minister took questions from the floor ranging from education to transgender issues, and took some questions from Twitter for the young people who couldn’t attend, but watched the video streamed live on YouTube and on this website.

#askTheFM on Twitter garnered questions from mental health to homelessness – the First Minister also hinted that a women’s national sports team may win a world championship before a men’s team!

Fabulous @ScotGovFM @YoungScot #askTheFM event – so many brilliant questions from young people – equalities common thread through all.
