How to get to Glasgow

You can fly to Glasgow from over 100 different destinations across the world or take direct trains from a number of different town and cities across Great Britain, including sleeper services from London.

National coach operators provide a number of regular services to the city, or if you plan on coming by car the M74 and M8 motorways run north and south through the city centre. If driving in from the south, try a scenic alternative and take the fascinating Clyde Valley Tourist Route, one of the country's National Tourist Routes, which runs alongside the River Clyde and passes many places of historic interest.

How to get around Glasgow

Ride the Subway (known as 'the Clockwork Orange') or take advantage of the local buses or a 'hop-on, hop-off' sightseeing tour. You can also cover a lot of ground on foot - despite being Scotland's largest city, Glasgow is surprisingly easy to get around. Taxis and private hires are fairly priced and there's on-street bike hire, ideal if you want to see the city in a leisurely fashion.
